Selling Your Services: Using Images to Display Your Price List

When selling classes or courses to people from different cultures, online language teachers should use a personalized approach that takes into account the unique needs and preferences of each group. Some cultures may be more comfortable with negotiating prices, while others prefer fixed prices. Therefore, it may be useful to offer multiple pricing options to accommodate different preferences. Additionally, some cultures may value premium services and be willing to pay more for them, while others may prefer more affordable options. Finally, it's important to communicate pricing information in a clear and transparent way, as some cultures may be more sensitive to hidden fees or charges.
As an online teacher with more than five years of experience, I found that it´s useful to have more options on how to show your price list. I have my webpage where everything is clear and transparent. But I know that not all students will open it even if I send them the link. So my second option is using images with price lists that are easy to send via chat like WhatsApp. Images in your chat are something you will definitely see, and you can also create them in different languages, which can also help to attract students.
I learned this approach from my life in Mexico where products/services are often sold without a clear price list. Instead, you have to message the person/company to get the price, which is often sent as an image along with the bank account details for payment. As a European, I prefer clear pricing upfront, but I have found this approach to be effective for many people and have started using it in my own business.
By being aware of these differences and adapting their pricing approach accordingly, online language teachers can improve their chances of attracting students from diverse cultures.
