When a new potential student messages you, you should have some prepared responses. Some students may write a long message about what they're looking for, but others may just send a brief message like "Hi, I want to learn (language)." For that, it´s great to have some prepared messages you can send fast.
First, why should you have these prepared messages?
To provide students with important information about your services (schedule, pricing etc.)
To welcome students and get to know them.
To convert them into paying students.
What should this message include?
Welcome the new students and tell them that you appreciate their interest.
Tell them what you do (if you have any specialization) and that you can help them.
Ask them for more details (how long they have been learning the language, what´s their goal)
Tell them how you work (schedule, which platform you use, methods of teaching)
Tell them the cost of your services.
Offer them something for free (for instance, a short call)
Include another contact.
Example of the message
Hello _______ (name), thank you for your message.
I´m glad to hear you want to learn _________ (language) and I´m sure I can help you with that.
Can you tell me a bit more about you?
1) How long are you learning _______(language)? Are you a beginner or not?
2) What is your goal? Do you want to learn ______(language) for work, studies, family reasons or anything specific?
3) Are you looking for 1:1 lessons, or do you prefer group lessons or a self-study program?
I work online via Skype or Zoom from Monday to Friday. The time depends on how we will agree; we may be in a different time zone. I offer classes for 30, 45 or 60 minutes, and the price per individual class is between ___________(your prices). You can find all the details on my website. (link to your website).
I use primarily communicative language method, which means we will speak a lot. I will provide you with all materials; you don´t need to buy any books.
If you want we can schedule a quick free call via Zoom (10-15 minutes) and talk about details. If you agree, I will send you some days and times to choose.
If you have any other questions, don´t hesitate to write me. You can also text me to my WhatsApp _______(your number)
I look forward to hearing from you.
Of course, you should personalize the message and modify it to your needs. Take is as an inspiration.
