They will take a video of you speaking English, and then convert that video in another language and match your lips to make it seem like you are speaking like a native. I am a Premium user of Duolingo learning Czech, and I would still recommend a student to have a human language teacher. As an example, Duolingo translates žena (woman) as wife. If you only used Duolingo then this would be an error in learning Czech.
