Star Wars Movies Average 82% Lifetime Net Profit
Can you guess which Star Wars movie grossed the highest profit
The movie empire of Star Wars is a multi-billion dollar industry complete with movies, theme parks, merchandise, and spin offs in the secondary market. (A personal favorite spinoff of mine is the Family Guy’s Blue Harvest, which is a parody on A New Hope.) With an estimated total production budget of $1.7 billion, the Star Wars empire has grossed over $10 billion worldwide since 1977, and this number will only grow with more sequels and prequels.
According to the-numbers.com, the first Star Wars — Ep. IV: A New Hope — had a production budget of $11,000,000 while the most recent Star Wars — The Rise of Skywalker — had a budget of $275,000,000.

Calculating net profit and net profit margin, there are two Star Wars movies that lead the race.
For the highest net profit of all Star Wars movies, the winner goes to Episode VII: The Force Awakens with a total net profit of $1,758,615,817. For the highest net profit margin, the winner goes to Episode IV: A New Hope with a 99% profit margin.
What’s an even more impressive number is Episode IV: A New Hope has a return on investment of 6,950% since debuting in 1977.
What’s a lesson to be learned from the Star Wars empire, be a long-term investor.
