The Day of Love, the First of May

První máj, or the first of May, is a romantic day reserved for lovers. On this day, it is customary for couples to kiss under a cherry tree. In more local circles, kissing under a cherry tree signifies that a woman will not “dry up” for the year (aby neuschla).

Especially today, be sure to give your loved one a sweet, romantic kiss so he/she won’t dry up.
